How To Strip Laundry with Essential Oils

Why strip laundry?

Clean clothes fresh out of the laundry are secretly hiding deeply embedded layers of dirt, hard water buildup, fabric softener, body oil‘s and skin cells that get caught in the fabrics through washing.

Ewwww! Gross thought!

I've seen a lot of recipes to do this, but I wanted to find a non-toxic one. I found this one and it works great!

This was our soaking water before and after. I soaked clean sheets that we have only had for 6 months and we all shower before bed.

This was after soaking them for 4 hours.

Recipe

Mix the following with hot water in a bucket:

+ 2 Cups Washing Soda

+ 6 Capfuls of Thieves Cleaner

+ 4 TBS Thieves Laundry Soap

+ 20 Drops of DiGize Essential Oil

+ 2 Capfuls of Thieves Veggie Soak

Add to a bathtub with laundry and enough water to cover them. Let soak for 4 hours, then wash and dry as usual.

A few extra thoughts:

• Laundry should be clean to begin with.

• DiGize oil has enzymes that help pull out greasy grimy stuff.

• Even if clothes are “clean,” they get build up overtime.

• Washing soda can be found at any average grocery store, or you can make your own using the recipe found here.

• After you strip your laundry, they smell so clean and are much softer & fluffier! Our workout clothes, towels & sheets never smelled & felt so good!
